Wanna Go To A Place That Will Drive You To Drink?

Blenheim and on.... So Zoey,Daniel and I all ended up in Christchurch for the last few days in NZ. Christchurch as always delivers to the young hip kids that we are.... Zoey and I had the most tragic moment we have had since we met. The time had come for me to go back to the USA. That was hard. Real hard. I love Zoey more than I have ever loved any other woman (other than Mom) in my whole life.

The flight headed to Fiji was amazing. It was like a party on the plane. Total chaos. we safely landed 2 hours later, and I had the whole day to kill in Nandi. Like most islands, tons of people are waiting for you to fulfill all of your fantasise. I met a gay boy and a lady and told them all I want is to go to the beach and have some local beers. The beaches in Nandi are no good so just the beers came through.

Fiji was hot. I took off my socks and threw them away in a dumpster. I made friends with a local, and took a taxi with him through the town. Good experience. ask me about it later...

10 or so hours in Fiji I got back on the plane to LA

Kissing the land i was born on

The flight was long and I was tired when I landed. I found a train that took me Ontario CA. Justin and his buddy picked me up and took me straight to Taco Bell and Right Aid for some PBR... Just what the doctor ordered.

Ontario was good and bad. Dairy land of America is a suburban rural nightmare. All I will say is I lived off fast food and light beer.

Justin lives with three other dudes, Matt, Derek (his brother) and Eric. Justin took of 5 days when I got there and we did it right. Me and Eric got quite close. He will be a friend forever.

Soo.......... soon enough I will be home and this is the end of the blog.

or is it?

Thanks Blenheim!!!

Moving up North was a great idea. The weather is warmer, dryer and the days seem longer. We have been living in Blenheim for the last three weeks picking grapes. We found a hostel type place that helps place you in vineyard jobs. In the last three weeks we have picked many types of grapes, but mostly chardonnay and pinot noir. We have also picked Riesling and Gris.

Working in the vineyards has been very good for the soul. Zoey and I have found that talking through the grape vine, very awakening. We find that we are able to communicate in a brand new way. During the day, we work either side of a particular set of trees, without looking each other in the face. Without seeing each other, we talk about the wildest thing. In short it has been great.

Zoey and I are going to spend some time apart, which saddens me greatly. Zoey is heading off to South America, to visit Argentina and Chile. I will be headed home for some West coast adventures.

With less than a week left in New Zealand, the whole trip is constantly playing through my mind. Mostly about things that I wish would have been better, and things I wish could have been different. But I am proud of what we have done. Looking back… I wouldn’t really have changed anything. This trip may have been “the time of my life”. at such a young age, and the bar set so high, I have a lot to do in order to have “the time of my life” … but I will do it.

Finnally Some One Has Let Me Out of My Cage.

Holy Cow it has been ages since I last updated huh? Two months? My apologies. Well let’s see. I guess you last heard that I was in Manapouri working at the Inn. Things kind of started to go downhill for Zoey and me after a while there. The town was small and there was nothing to do but hang out at the bar when we weren’t working. Literally... nothing. The outdoors was so beautiful, but the weather got so bad so fast that you couldn't enjoy it. If it wasn't raining, then the wind blew so hard it made it hard to walk sometimes. Staying in our room and watching TV, or hanging out in the bar just wasn't too good for us. The TV was crap, and the bar, as you can imagine was full of drama.

So last Monday we decided to up and leave. This wasn't too big of a problem with the bosses, but because it was such short notice, some hassle came with our decision.

We headed straight North to a Town Called Nelson. The weather promised to be warmer and the entertainment greater. That it was. Nelson is a small town in comparison to Denver, but felt like a Huge city to use living in little ol' Manapouri. We found a hostel called Paradise Backpackers. Our NZ guide book called it Club Med for the poor. What a place. We got a place to camp out side for $34 a night with great amenities, including Volley ball court, pool, hot tub, sauna, and an amazing kitchen. We stayed there for two nights, and then decided it was time to find some more work.

We found another hostel that helped put you to work right way. We checked in that evening, and went to work the next day. We have been picking grapes for $13 an hour for the last two days. The work is hard on the back, lots of bending, but man we love it. It feels so good to work out in the fields again and work with food and plants. If you remember, that was the plan for this trip.

So things are good we are great (all that is except for the car... that will have to wait for another entry). I will be in LA in 24 days and can’t wait for some change. Zoey and I are getting sad thinking about not seeing each other for a while, but I'm sure this will be good for us.

Some Pictures....

This is the steepest street in the world.... It is in Dunedin. crazy walk up and down.

We stopped in Queens Town for 2 nights before heading to Nelson.

Queens Town is pretty huh? This is where the Lord of The Rings was filmed.

Rad Bridge in the West Cost.

This country is covered in... you guessed it...Hedgehogs!!!

New New Zealand Update

Here is an idea on how expencive things are out here...

Near my home...

Things are going quite well for us out here. Zoey and I found new jobs. We now work in a town of 300 called Manapouri. The Manapouri Lakeview Motor Inn is our new home. The MLMI has a bar, a bistro, a liquor store, and a motel. We sleep in a motel room. Number 608 is home. I work in the bar, mostly at nights and Zoey does house keeping during the day. So far we like it. The locals here are nice. They have a strong Kiwi accent that makes for some confusion when they order drinks. They order lots of drinks with lemonaid, and expect 7 up. The funny thing beeing we sell proper lemonaid.

The room were in is kinda depressing. I feel like all we do is watch TV. TV isn't so bad on a couch but in a bed I just feel like a slob. Eating in bed and what not.

Work is slow right now but should pick up in a few weeks. So I'm looking forward to that.
