Finnally Some One Has Let Me Out of My Cage.

Holy Cow it has been ages since I last updated huh? Two months? My apologies. Well let’s see. I guess you last heard that I was in Manapouri working at the Inn. Things kind of started to go downhill for Zoey and me after a while there. The town was small and there was nothing to do but hang out at the bar when we weren’t working. Literally... nothing. The outdoors was so beautiful, but the weather got so bad so fast that you couldn't enjoy it. If it wasn't raining, then the wind blew so hard it made it hard to walk sometimes. Staying in our room and watching TV, or hanging out in the bar just wasn't too good for us. The TV was crap, and the bar, as you can imagine was full of drama.

So last Monday we decided to up and leave. This wasn't too big of a problem with the bosses, but because it was such short notice, some hassle came with our decision.

We headed straight North to a Town Called Nelson. The weather promised to be warmer and the entertainment greater. That it was. Nelson is a small town in comparison to Denver, but felt like a Huge city to use living in little ol' Manapouri. We found a hostel called Paradise Backpackers. Our NZ guide book called it Club Med for the poor. What a place. We got a place to camp out side for $34 a night with great amenities, including Volley ball court, pool, hot tub, sauna, and an amazing kitchen. We stayed there for two nights, and then decided it was time to find some more work.

We found another hostel that helped put you to work right way. We checked in that evening, and went to work the next day. We have been picking grapes for $13 an hour for the last two days. The work is hard on the back, lots of bending, but man we love it. It feels so good to work out in the fields again and work with food and plants. If you remember, that was the plan for this trip.

So things are good we are great (all that is except for the car... that will have to wait for another entry). I will be in LA in 24 days and can’t wait for some change. Zoey and I are getting sad thinking about not seeing each other for a while, but I'm sure this will be good for us.

Some Pictures....

This is the steepest street in the world.... It is in Dunedin. crazy walk up and down.

We stopped in Queens Town for 2 nights before heading to Nelson.

Queens Town is pretty huh? This is where the Lord of The Rings was filmed.

Rad Bridge in the West Cost.

This country is covered in... you guessed it...Hedgehogs!!!
