We Quit!!!

O Niagra Falls Cafe, you will be remembered....

It was nice for us to find jobs at with the same employer, too bad we didn't really enjoy the work. Zoey was hired as a server and I was hired for kitchen help. We didn't exaggerate any about our working past. I told the owners, Amanda and Trevor, that I had heaps of fast food experience and told them about the menu and work I do in Sturgis every year. They were more than happy to give us jobs.

The sleeping arrangements turned out to be ok. We were charged only $40 for the two weeks we stayed. We lived in a hostel, with the other cafe workers and some German wwoofers.

The work seemed to be fine at first. The only problem I foresaw in the first days of "training" was I wasn't actually being trained. I was too often told what to do, without being shown what to do, leaving a lot of things in question. I had a lot of baking to do. I have never baked. They treated me as if I should know this, but I didn't.

The non-training lead to much problems at work for both of us. This and a long with the fact the area we lived in was so desolate and boaring lead to the decision to leave.

Quiting wasn't a problem. We quit with two days notice and received our check right there and then. We made about $2000 in the two weeks we were there

No worries. We are now off to rare glow worm caves with possible scuba diving in the future. Back in the car and in the tent.
