Thailand is ridiculously hot. So hot. The humidity doesn't help either. When the sun goes down, there is no change in tempeture. I have been drinking so much water, maybe four litters a day, and only go pee once. We have to buy all our water from the store because Thai water is no good for us Americans.
This is the cheapest country we have been to thus far. I got a one hour massage today for about 5 dollars. I tipped him 10 on top of the 5 and he was so thankful. We took a one hour taxi trip from the airport to get to the social club, and it was like 9 dollars.
Have some pictures to look at
The electical outlets are good because they fit both American and Europian plugs. So smart.
This is our common room

Now this is where it might gross you out. In Thailand the bathrooms are not at all what we are use to. There is no toilet paper, or a pot to sit on. you use your hand along with water to clean up with. I totally made a mess the first time, and was incredably embarased that I had to ask how I was suspose to do it properly. Have a gander...
Thai Toilet
I was told it was like eating Nutella. After your mouth was dirty from eating it, what will clean you up better? Paper or water. You dump water down your back and when your fingers are clean you know you are. There is no sink or soap after your done. I am getting some hand sanatizer ASAP. It takes a lot to give me the creeps when it comes to germs, but this is about my limit. What about the door handel when you leave. What about this keyboard that I'm typing on right near the toilet. When I asked about the wet ass when your done, they told me that it is so hot outside that you will learn to enjoy the wetness... Hmmmm. Not so sure about that one.
The shower isn't much better. If you notice in this video, there is a water gun next to the toilet, the same kind we have in the kitchen sinks. I am told that this is a more common way to clean yourself after the number 2. Its way better than the pan of water.
Thai Shower
We are staying on a side of Bangkok that is not the tourist side. We are the only white people for many miles (at least thats what it feels like). We get stared at while walking down the street. This is the first place I have felt totally foreign. It's a good feeling. This is also the first place where my mustache is totally bitchen. The people are very nice and want to help us, but we cant really communicate. The German couch surfer knows some Thai, and this has been so helpful.
Red Bull originated from an energy drink from Thailand called Krating Daeng (Red Bull is the literal translation of Krating Daeng in Thai)
Some great men that just wanted us to drink with them
Oh good God! Kinda makes you appreciate the cold, no-heat toilet I had for you kids in the basement.
